I successfully produced my first backup of a DVD I own. I was able to fit a 2 hour movie on one single CD-R. Consumer Digital Video really has come a long way this past year. At the dawning of 2000 I never would have dreamed about being able some day to possess the technical means to copy movies as I please. Now it’s almost routine and possible for everybody owning enough HD space.
I am interested to see how the movie industry plans to deal with this development. I get the weird feeling that history is repeating itself (think about Napster).
